Review Book "Mathematics for Junior High School"

Viewed in terms of Information

Mathematics for Junior High School which is arranged by Mr. Marsigit is a useful book. We can get more information in each chapter of this book. The way to inform reader especially for student of junior high school is use the language that is communicative and easier to understand.
Each chapter is explained in detail that is by sub chapter. It is presented in bilingual language, they are Indonesian and English language. So the student can improve their Mathematics English words and vocabulary. Each sub chapter explained theoretically, given example exercises, and exercises. Of course, we not only get information about the subject from each chapter but also get other information in the form of pictures and exercises. So, after understand explained fill chapter, then can understand example exercise, so can finish exercise. In this book there are seven chapters, each chapter explained in detail became sub chapter. Explained fill chapter not out from studied problem. In this book there are seven chapters, each chapter explained in detail became sub chapter. Explained fill chapter not out from studied problem.
The explanation of the subject from each chapter is clear and solid. Besides them, there are attractive thing that is also useful. They are a box images which contain of remember things. It can help readers to understand and learn the subject. There also information about what subject will be discussed in that chapter in front of chapter. For the example:
What will you learn in this chapter?
 The Relations
 The functions
 The value of function
I sure that this book is very good and very useful to read or learn, but there are some lacks that I think if it is improved some parts in this book, it will be prefect. Some lacks are:
1. There are not answers key of the exercises.
2. Hasn’t summary in each chapter.
3. The information about biography of author is hasn’t.
I think that’s all my review book which is entitled “Mathematics for Junior High School”. I support this book because I’m sure that this book is looked for many people and student especially for student of junior high school.

Mathematics's Vocab

1. Teori bilangan (number theory)
Number theory is the fundamental theory in understanding the cryptography algorithm. Numbers are intended integer (integer). Cryptography algorithms are algorithms that work to make the goal of the cryptography knowledge itself.
2. Sukubanyak (polinomial)
Polinomial is a form of algebra that have a general form: A0 + a1x ^ 1 + a2x ^ 2 + ... + Ax ^ n, where A0, a1, a2, ..., an is a constant and x is variable. (^ = Rank).
3. Himpunan (set (mathematics))
Set (mathematics) is the set of all collections of objects that are considered as one unit. Although this is a simple idea, not the collective evil spirit is one of the important and fundamental concepts in modern mathematics, and therefore, the study set of possible structures, set theory is very knowledgeable.
4. Belah ketupat (Rhombus)
Rhombus is a flat two-dimensional wake is formed by four side the same length, and have two pairs of corners of the carpenter's square is not the same each of the corner before. Rhomb can be built from two identical isosceles triangle of symmetry in the base.
5. Layang-layang (a kite or deltoid)
A kite or deltoid is a quadrilateral with two disjoint pairs of congruent adjacent sides, in contrast to a parallelogram, where the congruent sides are opposite.
6. Jajar genjang (Row parallelogram or rhomboid)

7. garis sejajar (parallel lines)

10. Segitiga siku-siku (Triangular carpenter's square)

11. Tali busur (chord)
Chord is a straight line in the circle that cut the circle at two different points (TB).
12 Sudut dalam berseberangan (angle in the opposed)

13. Sudut berpelurus (Sumplementary Angle)
Sumplementary angle is Two corners of the A1 and A2 meet if it is said Sumplementary relationship as in the picture below

14. Sudut Bertolak Belakang (Vertical Angle)
Vertical angle is two corners of the location of each intersection distance. Two for behind the corner of the same major.
15. Kurang dari sama dengan (Less than equal to)
For the example:

16. Juring (a circular sector)
A circular sector is area in the circle is limited by the bow and two fingers that are on both ends.
17. Tembereng (A circular segment)
A circular segment is a region bounded by a chord and an arc lying between the chord's endpoints.

Introduce to English One

Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.


Hi! My name is Rima Rizqina Arifia Santri, you can call me Rima. I’m a female university student in Yogyakarta State University. Now, I’m studying at Mathematics class of 2008. Just enough to know, it is my first blog. I wouldn’t make this blog if my English lecturer didn’t ask me and my friends to make a blog. This blog is used to do the assignment from my English lecturer. From here, I know how to make a blog and use it. Thank you for my English lecturer.

Who is my English lecturer? He is an attractive lecturer. His name is Dr. Marsigit. He is fifty one years old, but he looked like younger. He comes from Kebumen. Beside become English level instructor, he also become Mathematics lecturer. He has many great experiences. He had gone to foreign countries like Franch, Japan, England, Australia, etc.

Somedays ago, in Sunday 17th February 2009 at 11 a.m., my friends and I got an English lesson. It was my first meeting with Mr. Marsigit. First, Mr Marsigit introduced himself. I was very surprised because he was very funny and interesting. He also looked still energetic. Then, he asked us where we come from. Many answers from us, there were Yogyakarta, Magelang, Cilacap, Kebumen, Solo, outer part of Java like Lampung, Jambi, NTT, etc. After that, he shared his experiences to us. How amazing it is..! Beside asked us to make a blog, he also ordered us to follow his blog in http://marsigitenglish.blogspot.com.

In this first meeting English one lesson, Mr. Marsigit explained how to comunicate mathematics in english, steps to develop our competen, how to be adult, etc. They are important things to learn. So I would like to tell you about what Mr. Marsigit explained.

How to communicate mathematics in english

Steps to develop our competen:

1. motivation

motivation in this step is spirit. The highest motivation is God. It is very important to achieve our aim. So we don’t forget to have praying to God.

  1. behaviour/attitude

we must choose behaviour/attitude which can support in our life to achive our aim.

  1. knowledge

knowledge or understanding is also important. We must understand with mathematics, for the example we should understand what is mathematics, what are its equipments or tools, etc. And one of high level of human is using our knowledge to other people.

  1. comunications

comunications are to write, to translete, to comment, to talk, to read, to understand, etc. they can develop our competen.

  1. skill

we must get the skills. What’s skill can develop our competen to communicate mathematics in english? They are

    1. skill to hear very good
    2. skill to speak very good
    3. skill to write very good
  1. experience

It is important to do. We can increase our competen with many experiences.

He said that we can become adult, but how to be adult. We must have

  • responsibility
  • independent Learner
  • cooperate with other
  • able to find out the differ
